Course Curriculum
Peter Drucker said, “Culture eats strategy for lunch.” Healthcare executives tend to be problem oriented. We go after problems as fast as we can, only to become frustrated. Why? Not only do issues not go away, they frequently increase in number and difficulty. Unfortunately, well‐meaning, hard‐working leaders fail to realize these issues are not really the problem; they are symptoms of a dysfunctional or toxic culture.

Join us as we focus on helping executives recognize and diagnose the impact culture has on efforts. Attendees will understand the influence of culture and learn practical strategies for addressing cultural resistance to efforts aimed at organizational improvement.

The goal of this course is to provide practicing leaders practical tools to influence positive cultural change in their organizations. The teaching methodology includes a lecture, discussion and bibliography.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss the power of culture in an organization.
  2. Describe how to assess culture.
  3. Identify practical strategies to navigate within with given cultures.

Target Audience
Operational managers, CEOs, board members of healthcare organizations and others interested in operational improvement at the executive level
